11. Investiture – What is it all about?
Beavers get invested and make their Promise soon after they join the group.
For this, the group and its leaders stand in a circle, the Beaver Leader stands next to the new member(s) and explains that they are going to become Beavers. Everyone makes the Scout sign and says the Beaver Promise together – new beavers do not say the Beaver Promise on their own but they should learn it so that they can say it along with all the other Beavers.
Then the Beaver Leader welcomes the new Beaver into the group and the worldwide family of scouts. The new Beaver receives their world membership badge, county and district badges, group scarf, woggle and the group name tape.
If a welcoming handshake is offered, the Scout left handshake should be used.

12. The Beavers Promise
The Beavers promise is :
I promise to do my best,
             to be kind and helpful,
             and to love God.
